Top Ten Tuesday I Top Ten Contemporary Books

Normally the topic would be “Top Ten Underrated Books” but even after hours of thinking we didn’t come up with even 5 – so we decided to change the topic to Top Ten Contemporary Books.

And since I know more about this genre than Sam, it’s mostly books that she hasn’t read.

5 Books We Own But Haven’t Read Yet

Technically, this week’s 5 Fandom Friday is “5 Fandoms You Hold Dear But No One Ever Heard Of”, but we’re honestly too mainstream for that. Pretty much every fandom we’re in is very well known.

So we thought we’d change the topic. And because we are the kind of people that love buying books (or always get books for Christmas and birthdays) but don’t always have the time to read them, we thought we’d make a list of 5 Books We Own But Haven’t Read Yet.

Hello fellow Fanboys and -girls!

Welcome to our world! It’s a crazy one, and this might be the time to run. That being said, stick around if you want to. Or if, you know, your world is crazy too. You’re still here? Good. Then let’s get this party started. (It’s not a party, really. It’s more like two socially awkward [fan]girls blogging about the exciting stuff in this world. So, you know, fictional stuff).

Here’s a quick summary of what to expect from us in the future: every piece of news we can find on superhero TV-Shows and movies (Marvel and DC), and reviews of episodes and movies. Everything Middle-Earth-, Hogwarts-, Panem-, Shadowhunter- and Supernatural-related. Because we have, as stated above, a serious case of the crazies, we will also be writing about conventions and events we attend(ed), and give feedback about merchandise we acquired. Oh, and you will get to hear a lot about filming locations as well, because we visited quite a few, and are planning on visiting a lot more.

For instance, Lord of the Rings locations that we went to see in New Zealand; which is, incidentally, where we met. New Zealand, that is, not a Lord of the Rings location. But it took us about two minutes of knowing each other to decide that visiting those together was the plan. And that is not even an exaggeration – it literally took us less than five minutes to figure out that we wanted to travel Middle-Earth together. Just so you know what you’re in for with the pair of us. So, whether it is to read about the newest episode of The Flash, or a review of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, or us ranting about how putting on the One Ring does not, in fact, make you invisible, and that wands you might purchase are not actually magical (sadly enough), you are in the right place.   Just a head’s up: we will rate everything on a scale from 1 to 6, but, because that’s boring, we will take our beloved J. K. Rowling’s grading system introduced in The Order of the Phoenix:

Outstanding, Exceeds expectations, Acceptable, Poor, Dreadful, Troll.
