This one’s easy, because we only ever bought five things at cons. These make us sound a lot richer than we were, but we saved for the cons, and one of them was over the Easter weekend, and we got a couple of bucks from our families as “Easter presents”. Continue reading
For all you lovely people living in Europe, Germany has now officially joined the cool kids and is organizing their own Comic Con! It’ll take place on June 25th-26th 2016 in Stuttgart. They have already announced three star guests: Robert Picardo, Nicole de Boer and James Masters, and they expect a lot more!
Tickets are between 17€ for daytickets and 199€ for VIP tickets, which is a lot cheaper than what we’ve paid for cons this far.
Here’s the official website: Comic Con Germany
If you’re in Europe, go check it out!
Although HobbitCon was in April (4.4., 5.4., 6.4.), so we are late with this, we still want to talk to you about HobbitCon, because HobbitCon is simply amazing. It was our first con ever, and man, it was a great choice for a first con. HobbitCon takes place in the Maritim Hotel Bonn, Germany, over Easter (at least that’s when the last three have been, we’ll see about the next one), and is, as the name suggests, a convention dedicated to Tolkien’s world.
This weekend – June 6th & 7th – there was one of the first Supernatural conventions in Germany. Organized by Entertainment Events, it took place in the Hilton Hotel in Düsseldorf, and was “moderated” by this guy called Parviz, who apparently is a big deal in Germany, but we’ve never heard of him, so yeah…
Anyway, we were working there, and it was awesome. On Friday, June 5th we were working at the registration, which basically meant we had to give people their tickets, and on Saturday and Sunday, we were responsible for the entrance to the main hall, where all the panels were held. So, basically, we were checking people’s tickets, making sure everyone had one, and got to see the panels at the same time. So much for the introduction to this post. Continue reading
This year we found our new addiction: conventions. After a perfect weekend at HobbitCon 3 in Bonn we were both really excited for the next one. This time we went even more crazy. And broke. Flight, Hotel, food and the Convention tickets… As chronically poor students this was painful to pay – but we regret nothing! And since we don’t spend our money on alcohol and parties we need something else (besides books, movies and travelling) to make sure every cent is spent. And honestly, if you could even remotely afford seing the main cast of you favorite TV-show in real life, wouldn’t you do it? Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, and so many others – need I say more? And did we mention that Jared Padalecki is like our favorite celebrity ever? Well now you know! But this is not (just) about Jared. Continue reading
