The lovely Becca tagged us to this book tag, and because we love books, and we love tags, we’re totally going to do this.
Shall we?
January (GARNET): Associate with warding off negative forces and dark energies – Name a book with the darkest/evilest character you can think of.
Queen Levana in The Lunar Chronicles and Dolores Jane Umbridge in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Levana is psychotic and power hungry; Umbridge is just plain evil. They’re both despicable.

February (AMETHYST): Purple is associated with royalty – Name a book with regal qualities… You can base this off of characters or choose the King of all books.
The Lord of the Rings. Every book bows to The Lord of the Rings. Tolkien revolutionized fantasy – there would be no Fantasy genre as we know and love it today without Tolkien.

March (AQUAMARINE): Washed out – Name a ‘wishy washy’ character, a character who is not strong or a follower.
Bella Swan. She’s just… boring. Very, very boring. And to my great shame, I have to admit I actually enjoyed the books when I read them first (in my defence, I was 12).
April (DIAMOND): A diamond in the rough – Name a book that you loved but is not well known.
Arakadien Awakens by Kai Meyer. The whole trilogy is awesome. You should check it out!

amazon.com
May (EMERALD): Said to balance energy – Name two characters who balance each other well.
Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs. These two could not have been more different, and yet they have this amazing bond and friendship; Will would go mad without Jem to balance out his craziness with his gentle calm.

June (Pearl): Associated with loyalty – Name a character who is loyal to the end.
Samwise Gamgee.
July (RUBY): Blood red – Name a book that made your blood boil, one that made you angry.
Breaking Dawn. The entire goddamn book is torture, it’s so bad.
August (PERIDOT): Pale green (it pales in comparison to other gems) – Name a supporting character who you like better than the main character.
Chaol from Throne of Glass. Although Celaena/Aelin is a great character, Chaol is just a very good person. And we have a thing for the good guys.

September (SAPPHIRE): Blue like the ocean which is calming – Name a book that had a calming affect on you.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s like coming home, every time.

amazon.com
October (OPAL): Iridescent – Name an iridescent book, this can be a book with a beautiful cover (Shiny? Lots of colour?) or you can base it off of a character (Quirky? Colourful?)
Magnus Bane. If fabulous were a person, it would be him.

amazon.com
November (TOPAZ): Associated with resilience – Name a book with a character who rises to the top in a time of adversity.
Harry Potter. And not just in one of the books. Every single one of his years at Hogwarts he spent fighting some evil (usually Voldemort) and STILL managed to have good grades and pass his OWLs and stuff.

December (BLUE ZIRCON): Associated with friendship – Name a book with a friendship you want to be a part of.
Oh dear. There’s so many! If we had to pick one… we’d pick two. The Golden Trio and the Fellowship.
We nominate:
Book Allure – Victoria – The Girl Who Reads – Quionna
and anyone else who wants to do it!
Thank you for the nomination! 🙂
