2015 is coming to an end, and because we want to start 2016 with a smile on our faces when we think back on 2015, we thought it’d be fun to list our 10 favorite moments of 2015. And that sentence said 2015 a lot. Sorry.
So, let’s see if we find 10 things we agree should be on this list! I’m a bit excited. Let’s be positive for a change!
1. HobbitCon
Our first convention ever was HobbitCon 3 in April. And we f*cking loved it. So much that we went to three more this year.
2. Asylum 14
For Asylum 14 we flew to Birmingham, and although we did not regret it for a second, we won’t be doing it again anytime soon. And definitely one of the best moments of the entire year was “meeting” Jared Padalecki.
3. Purgatory Con
Purgatory was a special experience because we got to be helpers instead of just being con-goers. And it was a lot of fun – so much that we would love to do it again.
4. RingCon
RingCon was the last convention we went to this year, and sadly also the last RingCon ever.
5. Vienna
We’ve wanted to go to Vienna for a while now, and finally got around to do it! And it was amazing. We loved every second, and it was one of the best vacations we could have had.
6. Spain
I’ve wanted to go to Spain for years; Frodo has been once before. But she hadn’t been to Barcelona, which we both wanted to see. And we got to! On multiple occasions. It was hot, but awesome, and it’s a beautiful city.
7. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 World Premiere
The World Premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 may not have been the most successful premiere, but we got to see Jennifer Lawrence – live and in color! And she signed two of our things, which is amazing. And totally made up for the hours we spent in the cold.
8. This blog
Weird highlight, true, but a fun one nonetheless. We love writing these posts and geeking out together and sharing it with other people.
9. Ant-Man and The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Or, more precisely, that we actually managed to go see both these movies together, which is really not that easy, given that we do not live in the same city. Ant-Man was fun, The Avengers: Age of Ultron a tiny bit disappointing – BUT we had fun and were disappointed together, and isn’t that the best part?
10. New Year’s Eve
True, technically, it’s not New Year’s Eve yet, but we’re gonna celebrate together – and it’s also my first time celebrating away from my family, which is a highlight in itself. That sounded harsher than it’s meant to. I enjoy celebrating with my family. But this time it’s just something new.
Who would have thought? We actually managed to make a list of 10 of our personal highlights! Here’s to hoping that there are many more to come in 2016 – Happy New Year, everyone! May it be better than 2015, and may you find everything you’re looking for.
