We don’t really do Halloween in this country, which makes listing “Things We Love About Halloween” pretty hard, simply because there’s not much to tell. So we decided to do another 5 Fandom Friday: 5 Characters We Would Name Our Kids After.
Here we go.
1. Sam
After both Sam Winchester and Samwise Gamgee. They’re two of our favorite fictional characters. They’re smart and selfless, always standing at Dean’s/Frodo’s side to make sure their brother/friend reaches their goal. They’re great role models and have so many traits that we’d want our kids to have.
2. Charlie
We have mentioned Charlie Bradbury many times in many posts, because she’s one of our favorite female characters. She’s incredibly intelligent, a geek, funny, and always stays true to herself. She’s loyal and fierce and wants to help – all of those are things that we’d love for our kids to have. Plus, Charlie’s a really cool name.
3. Barry
We’d definitely stick with Barry and forget about “Bartholomew” because that borders on child abuse. Barry Allen is not only the Flash – a superhero – he’s also a an adorkable, smart, positive guy who fights for what he believes in. Those are really important things. The whole superhero business is just a bonus.
4. Hermione
Hermione Granger has always been our favorite character, at least in the Harry Potter world. She’s simply amazing. She’s the brains in the Golden Trio, and saved Ron’s and Harry’s asses more times than anyone should count. She cares deeply about her friends and stands with them no matter what they do or where they go. She’s so eager to learn as much as possible, and that’s very inspiring. Book-Hermione is also not the most beautiful witch there is (movie Hermione is a whole other thing, though. Thanks, Emma Watson), but that doesn’t stop her from doing what she wants. She doesn’t care what people think, and that’s a very important lesson in life. And, of course, we wouldn’t mind if our kid looked like Emma Watson.
5. Tessa
Tessa Grey is kind, loyal, and loves fiercely. We may not be the biggest fans of Love Triangles (although Cassandra Clare was probably the only one who solved it okay), but Tessa handles it all right. She loves both boys – in fact, she loves everyone around her. She’s gentle but still fights for those she loves and for what she believes in. And we kinda like the name Tessa. Oh, and she loves to read. That’s very important.
Honorary Mention: Dean
Well, we weren’t going to leave Dean Winchester out of this list. He’s awesome. He is always willing to sacrifice himself for the people around him, and his love for his family is strong enough to be destructive.
I love how many of your lists include Hermione and the Winchesters. Nice blog, keep going! Love the road so far 😉

All of these names are amazing!!! Also, I agree on the thing about Bartholomew being almost child abuse. There are some names that are guaranteed to get your kid bullied, and that is one of them.
