Infinity Dreams Award

We got nominated for the Infinity Dreams Award by Dwelling In Erised. Thank you so much!

  1. List seven dreams. They can be personal or website related.
  2. Nominate seven other bloggers/authors/dogs for this award and notify them.

We found 7 dreams that we both agree upon, so do forgive the constant change of pronouns – it’s less weird to write “I”, but I do mean “us”.

Let’s do this!

Our dreams are:

1. Financial stability

We’re students, so of course there’s not much financial stability, but we also love travelling so much – and those are two things that do not go hand in hand. It is both our dream to see the world, but sadly enough, we can’t just get up and leave without any money. So we don’t even need that much; all we would love to have is just enough to get by comfortably.

2. Traveling the world

We’d need money first, which is why we listed financial stability first. But technically, travelling is definitely our dream #1. There are so many beautiful places in the world, and we’ve only seen a fraction of them. We want to see everything the world has to offer before choosing a place to settle. We have this ever growing list of places we want to visit; it motivates us to do the things we don’t particularly feel like doing, because once we’re done with those, maybe we’d have money, and maybe we could go on our next trip to strike one of the places off the list.

3. Writing a novel

Sam’s already done that, but it wasn’t exactly successful. So, one of our dreams is for one of us to actually manage to write a book and make profit with it – because what better way to earn money than by doing something you love?

4. Live together

We decided we wanted to live together about 12 minutes after meeting each other. 5 months in New Zealand together established that we can spend 24/7 together without ever feeling like killing the other one; so New Zealand was like our tryouts, and now we’d like to make it more permanent. The problem is, we don’t go to university in the same city, and barely see each other. But if we lived together, we could just go on spontaneous day-trips, and that is, of course one of the main reasons why this is still one of our dreams. Plus, we already have part of the furniture, so now all we need is a place. And the time. Oh, and let’s not forget about the money.

I said "a little less like idiots". We still look like idiots, of course. We're hugging a stone, after all

5. Change one person’s life

It doesn’t even have to be a drastical change. I’m not talking about saving someone’s life; I just want to make someone smile on a day where they didn’t even feel like getting out of bed, or making them rethink something that they might regret. I know it sounds selfish, but I just want to have a little impact on one person’s life. Just make them a bit happier for a moment, and then have them forget me, but never forget that feeling of having a stranger do something for you.

6. Have equality win

I would love to see a world in which equal rights is not just a concept anymore, and in which feminism isn’t an insult. I’d love to have my children, or at least their children, not be afraid of being a woman in a world no longer dominated by men. I’d love to see the sons and daughters of future generations be paid the same, looked at the same, and treated the same. My naive dream would be to see a world where women are no longer sexualized and victimized, men no longer demonized, stay-at-home fathers looked upon the same as mothers with jobs. I’d also wish for anyone else who faces discrimination on a daily basis to never witness it again. People of color finally seen as humans, moslems stopped being called the incarnation of evil… I cannot say too much about any of those, for we have never personally experienced them given that we were lucky enough to be born with the skin color that thinks itself above the rest and in a world where the most common religion is one whose violent history has been forgotten by most. But that does not change the fact that one of our biggest dreams would be to see all kinds of descrimination eradicated.

7. Meet Jared Padalecki

The last dream on this list is less cheesy than the last two. And yes, we did kinda meet him – we have our photo op with him at Asylum 14 in May – but that’s just not the same. We’d love to actually meet him (and Genevieve, because she’s awesome), simply because he – they – seem like very interesting people to have a conversation with. And, of course, we’d like to thank him for his Always Keep Fighting campaign. But mostly, we think it would be totally awesome and fun and interesting to just talk to the Padaleckis. Although I’m pretty sure we’d both be awe-struck and wouldn’t get out a single word (at first).
