Thanks to Comic Con we are getting a lot of new stuff this week. And it’s awesome! So, this time we have a trailer, a first look, for a new series called “The Shannara Chronicles” based on the second book of the trilogy by Terry Brooks. It’s coming to MTV in January 2016.
Why are we excited for this?
Btw: here‘s our review of the series premiere!
First off: it’s fantasy. And we love everything fantasy. Second: John Rhys-Davies, aka Gimli himself! And Manu Bennett, aka Azog, or Deathstroke. Need more reasons? Because there is one more very, very important thing to mention: it was shot in New Zealand! Also did we mention that Terry Brooks was heavily influenced by Tolkien’s work?
So, yes, we are excited! Are you excited? Also, we now need to read the books to know what we’re getting ourselves into.
Woah, I hadn’t heard about this before but what?!! I’ve only read The Sword of Shannara but man, this seriously makes me want to set aside some time to read through the whole trilogy!

I never even heard about it before (books and show) and I totally agree with you! I need to read all the books before it comes out in January 2016 because it looks awesome 🙂
Let’s hope the show will be great! 😉

Have you been watching? What do you think? Though I had only read the first Terry Brooks books, I was still pretty excited about the concept. Also, I thought MTV would be a good home for the series because it does a great job with shows like Teen Wolf and Awkward. I haven’t been too impressed yet, but haven’t gotten through all the episodes yet. I’ll reserve full judgement until after I have time to do a binge of all six episodes.

Yes, we’re gonna do a review of the first season in a couple of days 🙂 well it could have been better, but it’s not a bad show. But like with most MTV shows, they build too much on effects (in my opinion), and there’s a lot of cheesiness. But we enjoyed it
