Character Crush Weekend, Day 2: Female Characters

As promised/threatened: Female character crushes. There will be similarities with the previous post about our favorite characters, logically, because they wouldn’t be our favorite characters if they couldn’t make this list as well.1. Peggy Carter

She’s awesome, and beautiful. She’s badass and needs no man to save her – quite the contrary, acutally: she’s usually the one to save the men in her life. We love her style, her sass, and what she stands for. She’s feminine and badass and needs no one to take care of her, because she’s perfectly capable of taking care of herself. Doesn’t almost every woman want to be like that? ‘Cause we sure do. We love that woman.

2. Black Widow

Scarlet Johansson is extremely beautiful (and hot), and her character is, although she hasn’t always been one of the good guys, amazing. She has such a deep background story, and many reasons not to work with S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Avengers, and yet she chooses to fight for what she believes in. Natasha Romanova is a good person, or at least tries to be, and the most badass fighter of the team in our opinion.

3. Riley Blue

Riley and Will are kinda our favorite ship on Sense8. Riley is not just awesome because she’s with Will, though, but because she’s an incredible character. She has been through a lot – her story broke our hearts -, and it has been insinuated that she has tried to commit suicide at some point in her life, and yet she is fighting hard to overcome it. She’s fragile but strong, fighting for the others – people she has never even met before – even while reliving the worst day of her life, and generally a beautiful character and person.

4. Rose Hathaway

Vampire Academy may not be the best movie we’ve ever seen, but Rose is still an awesome character. (The books are so much better! The first one is okay, but after that it keeps getting better and better.) She’s badass and, just like the others on this list, fights for the people she loves.  Another thing we love about her very much is her sass; she doesn’t take sh*t from anybody.

5. Kala Dandekar

We just love all the characters on Sense8. Which is to say, just because “only” Riley and Kala made our list of crushes, doesn’t mean we love the other women on that show any less, because they’re awesome. I think one of the reason the others aren’t on here is because the others were badass and strong from the beginning, but we needed more time to see how great Riley and Kala are. I won’t lie to you, at first I wasn’t sure how much Kala contributed to the cluster, but then I realized that just because she wasn’t a hacker like Nomi or a f*ucking badass like Sun. She has other battles to fight, and fights more subtly. She uses her brains to help rather than her fists (we’re not saying the others aren’t), and she’s sweet and kind and has a beautiful mind. The way she sees the world is inspiring, because rather than focussing on the negativity of things, she chooses to look at the bright side without it being too cheesy.
