Legends of Tomorrow – First look and thoughts

As some of you might have heard, The CW announced an Arrow and The Flash spinoff a couple of months ago. It got picked up, and we got a trailer! Let’s talk about that. Like we did for Supergirl, it’s just gonna be a quick thing, in and out in a few sentences. We’re going to do a full review once we have a pilot.
Okay, so here it goes. First thing I have to say is that this sneak peek opens the door to a couple of questions, like, how the hell is Sara Lance alive? Are they going to get her to the Lazarus Pit (I think we see that in the trailer) and bring her back? But wasn’t she dead for a while now? That just seems kind of unsanitary…
Anyway, there’s also a couple of other characters that we already know. Captain Cold and Heatwave from The Flash, Ray Palmer/The Atom (which kinda answered the questions we had about him at the end of the Season 3 finale of Arrow) from Arrow who, apparently, can make himself very, very tiny, like Ant-Man-tiny; and Firestorm from The Flash. But we also got two new ones: Hawkgirl, who has wings and a “past lives complex”, whatever that means (and that’s about all we get about her), and Rip Hunter, this time-travelling dude who works for an organization who protects history itself and seems to be the one to send them all on their mission.
So we have one big team-up of people who, obviously, are going to have issues before embracing the fact that they have to become a team because they always do in these things, and travel through time to protect the world from an immortal villain with a big-ass army. I have to admit, as excited as I am about this show, it kind of made me think of Star Wars for the weapons and stuff seen in the fight scenes, and Doctor Who, for obvious reasons. I mean, they’re travelling through time. And there’s Timelords; although they call themselves Time Masters in this one – gotta hand it to the writers, someone was really creative here.
So I guess we’re gonna have to wait and see about this one. I have mixed feelings, but I had those about Arrow as well, and that turned out great – I’m going to trust the CW. They haven’t disappointed me this far.
